Golf Tip #3: Playing High & Low Shots

Most golfers will tell you that when playing golf you need a strong repertoire of short game skills to master the course.

Often, the requirement is to hit the ball high or low depending on the shape of shot required.

When you need to hit it high, pretend you’re on an up slope. Move the ball forward in your stance and set up with your right shoulder well lower than your left. If you were on an up slope, your shoulders would be perpendicular to the slope.

To hit the ball high you need a fairly soft lie. On the other hand, if you need to hit the ball low, imagine you’re on a down slope. Move the ball back in your stance and set up with your left shoulder lower.
